Bottom Line

What we loved

  • Small NYC restaurant with available outdoor seating. They have a speakeasy as well, that had great drinks.

  • The food was good, ordered the buffalo wings ($10), the Garfunkel ($16), and the Lower Eastsider ($16) with a side of tater tots ($10). The drinks were great, ordered the 8 Ball ($13) & Reyes Rush ($13).

What we did not like

  • Pricey burgers ($15) that don't come with fries, can order for $4.

  • Service was a bit slow. For NYC's fast-paced lifestyle, this restaurant's staff had little sense of urgency. We were seated at 5:04 and received the check at 6:41.

Verdict

This small NYC restaurant had a lot going for it: a convenient location near our hotel, outdoor seating, and an enticing speakeasy. We enjoyed the buffalo wings and both burgers we ordered (the Garfunkel and the Lower Eastsider), though we were surprised that fries weren't included considering the $15 price tag. The tater tots and cocktails were delicious, but the service was unfortunately slow. Even by relaxed standards, waiting over an hour and a half for a fairly simple meal felt excessive. Overall, the food and drinks were good, but the slow service and price point left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. With so many other options in the Lower East Side, we'd probably explore those before returning here.
