Bottom Line

What we loved

  • Great location, close to hotels and malls.

  • While the hostess was a bit off-putting, our waitress Addison, was very personable.

  • We showed up around 5 pm on a Friday without a reservation & were seated promptly. Restaurant filled up rather quickly despite the sub zero weather.

  • The tables in the middle of the restaurant have hooks which we utilized to hang up our winter jackets.

  • Portion sizes were good, add ons were also reasonably priced.

What we did not like

  • The ramen broth came out tepid; wish it was warmer.

  • The Spicy Garlic Ramen special was very mild, with "spicy" in the name, definitely thought it would have more of a kick.

Verdict

We recently enjoyed a delicious ramen dinner at their Deluxe location. Its central location, close to hotels and shopping, made it a great choice for a quick and satisfying meal. We were seated right away on a busy Friday night, and our server, Addison, was friendly and attentive. We appreciated the hooks at our table for our winter coats – a thoughtful touch in sub-zero weather!

We ordered the Karaage Chicken Nuggets, Roasted Edamame, Spicy Garlic Tonkotsu, and Tonkotsu ramen. The appetizers were excellent, and the ramen portions were generous with reasonably priced add-ons. However, we were a bit disappointed that the ramen broth was lukewarm, and the "spicy" garlic ramen wasn't very spicy at all.

Overall, we had a positive experience. The food was flavorful, the service was great, and the location was convenient. We recommend it when you are in Chicago and looking for a tasty ramen fix.
