Bottom Line

What we loved

  • Booked a Park Executive Suite and was upgraded to a Georgetown suite on the 3rd floor.

  • Bed was very comfortable. Requested 2 additional pillows after check-in.

  • Large bathroom with double vanity, along with shower/tub combo.

  • Spacious corner suite with dining table (only 3 chairs), large sectional, 1.5 bathrooms and a separate workstation area. Lots of windows (that could open) which allows for ample natural light.

  • Globalist breakfast credit was listed as $60 per person. Total for 2 averaged $130 and all but the $5 room service delivery fee was removed.

What we did not like

  • Check-in was short. While the front desk agent was nice, she was not aware of Hyatt Prive (no welcome letter) & did not mention my Globalist status benefits. She also pointed me to the elevator rather than walk me to it & didn't call 10 minutes later to check if everything with the room was ok.

  • The entrance smelled horrendous. Like they just put down mulch. By the 2nd day the smell has subsided & was minimal.

  • Text feature is not available on Whatsapp, a small feature that could cater to global audience.

  • The front entrance does not have a ramp, down the stairs to the front desk, an accessibility concern.

  • Welcome amenity was 1 bottle of still water & chocolate covered cherries with no note, so unsure who it was from.

  • The hotel did not send a prewelcome email asking about preferences prior to check-in.

Verdict

Similar to our last stay, we booked a 3-night free stay, this time in a Park Executive Suite for $918 plus tax. Upgraded to a large corner Georgetown suite, we had more than enough space for our 3-night stay. The hotel is a good base 0.5 miles from the Foggy Bottom metro & walkable to Dupont circle. There are several hotels in the area yet the area is rather quiet & easy to navigate, would stay again.
