Bottom Line

What we loved

  • Location: central location. 30-minute walk to Gardens by the Bay with a bus stop a block away.

  • Overall clean room, minor issues with air duct dust.

  • Great customer service from all, staff went above and beyond for simple requests.

  • Internet was fast (57.1 down) however there were issues with casting.

  • HDMI access was easy to use, cord management was appreciated.

  • Room amenities (including mini bar) was fully stocked and replenished daily.

  • Electronic shades worked well at keeping out sunlight.

  • Hotel is clean and quiet. Rarely heard other guests on the same floor.

  • Extensive breakfast buffet with rotating food items.

  • Hotel restaurants were good, tried Mr. Stork their rooftop bar which had delicious food along with the Cantonese 5 on 25.

What we did not like

  • Light switches were hard to understand & some rooms don't have their own controls (bedroom closet can only be turned on when all the lights are on)

  • Bed was on the firm side, wished it was more plush.

  • Hotel gym is small. More than 4 people in it at a time can feel cramped. They have mats for stretching but there is minimal floor space to be able to use. Hotel gym is open 24 hours and accessible via keycard.

  • Hotel (infinity) pool is small, with 5 - 7 chairs available. There is a small, separate, wading pool for children.

  • Hotel is expensive for what it offers.

  • Residence and hotel mix might cause confusion. Two elevator system can disorient guests.

  • Suite layout is strange, you have to walk through the bedroom to access the living room.

  • No locking system doors, notable for the main bathroom which might be a privacy issue for some.

  • There was no easy way to contact front desk from the app. Would love to see a Whatsapp message option rather than having to call or visit front desk.

Verdict

We loved the Andaz Singapore's central location and the exceptional service we received from the staff. Our room was clean and quiet, and we appreciated the well-stocked mini-bar and effective electronic shades. However, we found the light switches confusing and the bed a bit too firm for our liking. While the rooftop bar, Mr. Stork, and the Cantonese restaurant, 5 on 25, offered delicious food, the gym and pool felt small and crowded, and we felt the hotel was expensive for what it offered and would look to stay somewhere else on subsequent visits to Singapore.
